Homemade Wheat Crust Pizza

Linda picked up some wheat pizza dough the other day for us to try our hand at homemade pizza. I bought some 2% mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce to go with it. Linda wanted to use the marinara sauce she had in the fridge, but I’m very fussy about sauces. I don’t like spaghetti sauce, but I will use pizza sauce (sparingly).

We took the dough out of the fridge about an hour before we starting preparing the pizza. I’m not sure if it rose at all or not, but we were able to spread it out to a normal sized pizza. I spread pizza sauce lightly and then a good helping of the 2% mozzarella cheese. We popped it in the oven at 450 degrees for about 10 minutes.

It stuck just a little to the pizza pan, but it was pretty good. The crust was definitely a bit more hearty than typical pizza crust. I’m not sure if that’s normal or our dough just didn’t rise enough. Either way, it was an enjoyable pizza. We’ll probably do this again but with toppings.
